27 November 2012

Back when they first came to our islands, we had no clue what was in store for us.  How were we to know  all that we know now?  Only hind sight is 20/20 and although we are sure there were people who saw right through the façade that the coloniser had painted before us.  We didn't understand their method of life.  We didn't understand what they were saying, and we believe that they probably didn't even see how far down the road this was going to take us.  Like many other people in other native lands,  we made the mistake of trusting these seemingly nice people.  Maybe that one guy was a nice one, but the rest weren't so nice.  Their intentions didn't start as an effort of genocide, they just wanted to own a piece of paradise.  Others had even further bad intentions.  In the end, it only makes sense to commit genocide of a race, especially since we have already gone from what some say could have easily be a million people, to 40,000 and it happened almost overnight.  Many of our Ali'i were forced to leave the islands and go underground for their safety.  Those Ali'i scattered throughout the earth and multiplied with mixed blood, from exile.  How do they, after the first generation, claim what's rightfully theirs?  What about the people there who felt they had to blend in to avoid further complication?  What about those who just fell in love with someone else... Does that make their children of lesser value to the family?  No, it doesn't. Kanaka Maoli are Kanaka Maoli, as long as they are Kanaka Maoli.

Team Freedom would like to thank you for all of your continued support as we fight for the freedom of our sovereign nation alongside others in this battle for Indigenous Justice. We want to keep you posted on all that is going on and help you understand what that means to you.  All of this information will help you determine which journey is the best one for you and your family to choose from.  Comments here should be always left on for your feedback.  We should hope to hear some kukakuka, as we all need to understand our common grounds and how we can use the theory that many hands makes work light and utilize that model to make our impact with this.  We all hope to be free from the bondage that oppresses us, faster than we can afford to keep up, which is thus killing us from within.  It eventually takes your soul, consuming all that you have, just as an addiction could tear your family apart, but you also realize that if you didn't pound the pavement of the asphalt jungle everyday like you do, then your family would not be able to do the things that they are supposed to do to have a good time or to live freely.  Poverty affects the whole family.  Young children grow into bitter and numb young adults, full of anger at a system built against them. Not knowing how to react, they find themselves tangled with the law, thus increasing the bitterness.  This breeds a whole new layer of problems for our communities.
We must unite at all costs and put things back into their proper perspective and do so soon.  Did you know that they plan to closed all of our funding by 2015, saying that we are already so washed out that there is no one left who can claim homelands or any funding thereof?  They have scattered us to thin us out, put up a quantum requirement and shut us out of our lands and trusts.  They want to deplete our trusts for national debt, thus leaving us with nothing, telling us that we had plenty of time to assimilate into their culture.  They are cutting our resources from us on a daily basis and pretty soon, we will have nothing left of us, who we are, no connection, to live on a land that has been stripped of all of her glory.

Blessing to Begin

On This Road

Team Freedom would like to begin this ink with a prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father
It is through You and only You that we are able to come here today and relax enough to read a scribe or two.  This must mean that our immediate needs are being met.  Lord our God, thank You for the blessings that we receive, the breath of life that only You can give, for us to make it right in Your Divine Will, in keeping our eyes looking to You, Jah.  Our Heavenly Creator, let us remember how many times You have opened the door to get us out of a jam, or for the luxuries that You see that we get to pay ourselves for our labor.  Yahweh, please watch over us as we learn to come closer to You in this journey and that we realize and recognize out true authority is You and who is through You, O Dios de mio. We recognize Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, through He who connects us to You, Akua.  Jehovah wash away our sins from yesterday and let us come to You with feet that are clean and ask You to protect us with the Blood of the Lamb, from all evil.  Take those away from us who mean us harm and surround us with experiences that are wholesome and building.  Show us the way to our freedom to retain our status as the rightful stewards of Your Lands, O Io.  Allow us to become a whole nation againn, and to be an ally to other nations alike, to form an alliance in Your Holy Name.  Come redeem Your Sons and Daughters of Judah, shall we give our praise and honor to You.  In Jesus Name We Pray, Amene.
